Google Looking To Launch Cloud Service

Google’s long-rumored GDrive that would let you upload and store files to its servers and be able to access them from anywhere you have an Internet connection may finally be close to launching in the coming weeks as a more cheaply priced Dropbox rival.

The new product, reportedly called “Drive,” will be free to consumers up to a certain size limit, and would also be folded into Google Apps for enterprise customers, according to The Wall Street Journal. The newspaper cited “people familiar with the matter.”

“If a person wants to email a video shot from a smartphone, for instance, he can upload it to the Web through the Drive mobile app and email people a link to the video rather than a bulky file,” the newspaper said.

If that scenario sounds familiar, that’s because Google already offers similar functionality using a variety of Google tools.

You can, for instance, record a video on your Android phone and then have it uploaded automatically to Picasa through a service called Instant Upload. Then you could either share your video on Google+ or move it to a different album to share publicly or with a select group of people such as close family members.

Google also allows you to upload files of any type to Google Docs, effectively giving you a Dropbox-like service.

Rescued Dog Bites NBC Anchor in the Face

Kyle Dyer, an NBC anchorwoman was attacked, live on the show, this past Wednesday by “Gladiator Maximus” a mastiff dog who was rescued from an icy lake just the day before this incident. The show invited the dog as well as the rescuers to the show in order to celebrate the dog’s rescue, but the day made a turn for the worse when the dog bit the anchorwoman in the face.

Of course there are going to be many speculations on whose at fault here. But many have come to the conclusion that it is Dyer’s fault for petting the dog way too much, therefore making it uncomfortable. Animal experts say the anchorwoman should’ve been able to recognize the dog’s body language, (the dog was showing her his teeth) and added that she should’ve never put her face so close to the animal.

“Gladiator Maximus” was taken to a Denver animal shelter where it is being “quarantined.” The dog’s owner will be taken to court on April 4th for this incident, but I don’t think it is necessary, the anchorwoman was obviously at fault, nobody told her to put her face so close to a dog she didn’t even know.

Stoudemire’s Brother died in a terrible car accident early Monday morning in Florida against a tractor trailer at about 1:42 am. According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, his brother was driving at a high speed rate, with no seatbelt on and collided with the rear of a tractor. He was instantly pronounced dead at the incident.

The team said that Stoudemire was traveling to Florida to be with his family and would not be with the team for Monday night’s game against the Jazz in New York. The team did not know when he will return. Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni said Stoudemire can take “whatever time he needs to take” before returning to the team.

Following the Knicks’ 99-88 win against Utah, Stoudemire tweeted: “Even though I’m going through hard times right now. #SadDay. Great job tonight team. Jermeny Lin that’s how we play. Ya boy SunTzu.”

Nelly Sued by American Express Sued by American Express

"It's only a small debt"

Nelly ran up a $20,403.64 credit card bill with American Express — which seems totally reasonable for a big name rap star. Just one problem … AMEX says he never paid it!

The credit card company filed a lawsuit against Nelly (real name Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr) in Missouri back in October to try and get their money back (plus another $3,000 in attorney’s fees). So far though, they claim Nelly has refused to pay what he owes.

A court hearing is scheduled for January 9.
